The wicker basket is beautiful and I bet so much nicer to keep the logs tidy. I haven't ever planted flowers to bloom in the winter, but I will get organized enough to do it next year, they look so beautiful and they must smell divine. How much fun to have Christmas there this year, I hope you are able to get everything done you want to. Thanks for sharing these photos and words with us Elspeth. Oh, and I finally got Homemade in the mail. I am so busy that all I've had time to do was briefly look through it, I can't wait to sit down and devour it, it is gorgeous and definitely very inspiring. Hope you have a wonderful week! Your moonlight trip sounds as if it were worth having it, even if you then had to put up with the flu. I was interested to read about the Dutch putting pots and plants whereever possible. That is one thing that has always struck me in China. If people have just the smallest place for a pot there'll be one. Always makes any place look much more pleasant. Enjoy your week. So sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather though. You are doing an amazing job on your house and you are so lucky to live in such a gorgeous place in the country. I sometimes camp down near Dungeoness in Hythe but Dungeoness's bleak scenery and amazing beaches really inspire me, you are very lucky to have it on your doorstep. The Pilot does the most amazing fish and Chips and sometimes me and my family drive the 40minutes down there just for the fish n chips a stroll on the beach and then we head home again!
