MY CURRENT BOOKS
Homemade: Gorgeous Things to Make with Love
with Ros Badger
(Collins £20).
People have been talking about the Weekend Book in messages here, so I thought I would put a cover up (click for a link to order it) - and one of my next book (written with my friend Ros Badger ) - which will be out in early May. As people who have always made things at home - Ros is a great knitter and crocheter, and I love making things from the garden, whether that's planting up pots as presents, cooking chutney and jams or festooning the house with leaves and flowers - we've collected some of what we think are our best ideas into a book of around 80 projects, all of which have all been beautifully photographed. For more on these books, and the others that I have written, and links to order them, please go to my website and click on Books.

Hi Elspeth!
Been a long time…I am still in Serbia and now own a publishing company. You know anything about plants in Eastern Europe?
Look forward to hearing,
G.
Dear Elspeth,
I contacted your publishers John Murray a few weeks ago, as I very much wanted to set up a telephone interview with you for this Friday 19th at 12.45pm UK time to talk about your latest book ´The Wonderful Weekend Book´
I thought I´d try and contact you directly, as I haven´t heard back from the publishers as to whether it´s possible or not.
We are Radio Europe Mediteranneo, Spain´s largest English speaking radio network, broadcasting to approx a million listeners. Please see our website http://www.rem.fm
Please can you email me on hannahm@rem.fm regarding your availability.
Kind regards,

Dear Elspeth,
I just found your book The Wonderful Weekend Book, it is delightful and heartwarming reading. Just brings you back to the simple things. So far i have wrote a long letter which i thoroughly enjoyed(i definetly will have to do more of that!). At the present time we are painting my daughters room so i was able to take her whole bed out to the backyard and luxuriate in the comfort of looking at the night sky from the cosiest of positions(I am not a camper). I have started making my recipe book and have sent out letters to friends and relatives to supply me with their favourite summer dish(i am from Australia) handwritten of course. Then i will try them out on the family and also write comments on what the family thinks.
Now since i have visited your website i will definetly start collecting nature to display around the home , how beautiful and even though i am a shocking gardener i will try and do a few things(eg. grow herbs)
Thankyou very much for sharing your thoughts in this delightful book and now in this web. I love the idea of making train carriages into a home .I love your huge kitchen table . Unfortunately we have a tiny house but i can dream.
Keep sharing i am loving it

Wow – what a lovely comment! Thanks. Glad you are enjoying it…
Sometimes I wonder why I am doing it and how/if to keep it up now the major building work (which I set up the Blog to document) is finished. But I enjoy it too. And I like having a record (like the physical scrapbook or album I do not keep) – and we do still have a fair way to go, so thanks for your enthusiasm…
xx E
Hi Elspeth,
Would it be possible for you to send me your email address? We have an exhibition coming up that I would love to discuss with you,
Best wishes,
Alice
Dear Elspeth
Absolutely love The Wonderful Weekend Book and waited patiently for Homemade which arrived today. Looks really lovely and inspiring. However there is a ‘typo’ you might want to change before the next edition as it changes the sense of the sentence completely.
Back to the book now!
All the Best
Sarah
I recently purchased The Wonderful Weekend Book and luxuriously dip into it on a regular basis for ideas on how to enrich our weekends. It has also had an unexpected use…I am a Stop Smoking Advisor for the NHS and many of my clients use cigarettes as a form of reward. Often stopping smoking leaves them feeling a bit lost and lacking a ‘treat’. I have started recommending your book and urged them to plan treats and rewards from it. Amazing successes! Thank you.
I came across your blog a couple of weeks ago and have so enjoyed reading it. I am the author of The Secret Remedy Book (illustrated by Wendy Anderson Halperin). I love anything to do with children’s literature, and there is something so very storybook-wonderful about making a home out of two old Victorian railway carriages! I loved The Boxcar Children as a child, and so you take me right back to my nine-year-old self. Also, I am in great admiration for those of you who are blogging. My husband is helping me start a blog of my own and ~ omigosh! ~ it is harder to do than we thought. But you are inspiring me to persevere!! Thank you so very much for sharing the unfolding story of your railway carriages with the world, and greetings from the other side of the world, from Kari (rhymes with starry) in Texas.
Hi Elspeth
Intrigued by the water chain, would love to find out more
Gina
I am sure that you get bombarded with emails and new ideas that people want you to promote – so apologies on the offstart!!
I have started a company called Kitaura Designs – the main products are tablecloths with central holes to enable the umbrella. They all have a seam of either buttons or poppers (the wax ones) to allow you to take the cloth off without taking the umbrella out. The cloths come in a variety of colours – turquoise/lime – beige/linen – pink spots and blue spots. The spotty ones also come in a wax material. They do make any garden table look extremely smart certainly enhance them.
I also have matching napkins, bunting and seat covers.
Please do have a look at my webstie – http://www.kitaruadesigns.co.uk . I would be happy to send you any information or samples, if you wish. If you have any suitable articles that you could include these – of course, I would be most grateful.
I must say, I think they are great!!!
Many thanks for your time.
